Help Disabled on Exciting Weekend Trips!

Project Description:
Camping Unlimited offers fun and exciting weekend recreational-educational activities for children and adults with special needs ie, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and other physical / emotional challenges. We offer Saturday trips, (9 am to 5 pm), weekend overnights, summer camp opportunities and extended travel programs. Camping Unlimited weekend activities may include; sporting or theatrical events, picnics, backpacking or snow trips, fishing / hiking trips, visiting zoos, museums, exploring state parks or theme parks, cultural and community events, festivals and more. Extended travel camps can be 3-7 days and may include overnight stays at our beautiful Camp Krem in the Santa Cruz Mountains or exciting or other great locations. Volunteers age 18 apply to become a "Volunteer Counselor" to assist on trips according to their scheule and based on availability. The trip pick up points for Volunteers and participants are in Emeryville and San Jose, California. RESPONSIBILITIES: Volunteers should be good role-models and mentors, offering friendship to campers of all ability levels. Volunteers provide supervision, compassion, enthusiasm, maturity and good judgment. Their hard work is greatly appreciated.
